Wellstone's plane crashed

From CNN.com:

Transportation Department says plane that has crashed in Minnesota was one used by Sen. Paul Wellstone, sources tell CNN. Not yet known whether Wellstone was on plane. Details to come.
Shit.

AP also has a frustratingly short brief:

A plane crashed near the Eveleth-Virginia Municipal Airport on Friday, and authorities said there were probably fatalities.

The St. Louis County sheriff's office said the plane crashed about seven miles east of the airport. It said rescue personnel were on scene, but further details were not immediately available.

KSTP-TV in the Twin Cities said the plane had eight people aboard. The station identified the plane as a King Air, which is a twin-engine turboprop made by Raytheon.

Update:CNN now reports Wellstone was on the plane, and there have been fatalities.
