In the closest race this past election, GOP candidate Bob Beauprez holds a paper-thin 122-vote lead over Democrat Mike Feeley. The narrow margin of victory has triggered an automatic recount (required by state law).

This is one of three unresolved Congressional races. The other two are the Louisiana 5th and the Hawaii 2nd (with a special election to fill the late Rep. Patsy Mink's seat).
