Boom! Bush collapse confirmed

Let's savor this for a moment, courtesy of the American Research Group:

Bush approval ratings
Approve 47
Disapprove 48
How do those numbers jibe with earlier ARG polls?
August 2003
Approve 54
Disapprove 39

July 2003
Approve 57
Disapprove 38

June 2003
Approve 61
Disapprove 31

May 2003
Approve 68
Disapprove 24

The floor really is collapsing on Bush. That's a seven point drop in approvals and a nine point rise in disapprovals in a single month. The numbers gel with what we first saw with Zogby (though Zogby methadologies are different than the simple approve/disapprove dynamic), and then saw with Gallup (which his a hair away from dropping below that magical 50 percent line).

The "Bush is popular" line should be dying a well-deserved death (except over at Fox, which should have him at 57 in its next poll). Enter "Bush is beleaguered".
