Monday | October 28, 2002 Hirono and Lingle now even In the Mother of All Surges, Hawaii's Hirono (D) has overcome a large deficit to tie Republican Lingle in the latest KITV4 News/Star-Bulletin Poll. Both candidates get 40 percent of the vote, with 18 percent undecided, who break out thusly: Democratic Views - 35%Hirono trailed by as much as 15 points over the summer, but is now poised to take Hawaii's governor's mansion.
