Friday | November 01, 2002 Networks will call races carefully After the 2000 elections, the networks vowed to overhaul the Voter News Service -- a collective exit poll data gathering operation designed to call elections the second polls close. VNS is being overhauled, but the effort won't be fully ready until 2004. So, VNS efforts will be beefed up with AP data (they didn't blow the 2000 election) and the networks' own exit polling efforts. And, get this, some news organization actually promise to wait for votes to be counted before making any predictions! Here's a question for all of you -- which network will you be watching election night, and why? I'll be switching back and forth amongst them all, but I'm undecided on my "home base" (I did MSNBC in 2000). Posted November 01, 2002 01:23 PM | Comments (59) |
