Listen everyone -- I know the Dems got creamed. All I was saying is that it wasn't the blowout some say it is. A shift of 100,000 votes nationwide in three or four Senate races and we're all singing a different tune today. But I do like the results of the governor races (except for the Barnes loss in GA), and I think the Dems have just boosted their bench for Senate and Presidential bids 8-12 years down the road. It's small consolation right now, I know, but there will eventually be a payoff.

As for 2004, I'm most interested in the presidency, though the GOP just showed how it can win an election even when playing defense.
