Wednesday | December 18, 2002 Heading out to see Lord of the Rings Consider this an open thread. I tried to post more today, but what the heck. How was I suppose to concentrate on anything knowing that at 7 p.m. tonight, I will be watching what is sure to be the best movie in the history of the world (or at least post-Industrial Revolution). Yes, I am a Tolkien geek (and D&D, Dragonlance, Star Wars, Asimov, Clark, etc.). I was already a politics geek, at age 12, so what did I have to lose? So, I embraced my inner nerd. Well, that's not entirely true. I did have limits -- I am not a Trekkie. And I can't do math more complicated than computing a 20 percent tip. But, anyone who can discuss the finer intricacies of Middle Earth and confidently explain the term "Mayberry Machiavellians" is a pretty lost cause. LOTR today, after another great episode of "24" yesterday. Damn my life rocks right now! Posted December 18, 2002 04:58 PM | Comments (81) |
