Where is Holy Joe?

Incidentally, Holy Joe is skipping the convention. Walking through the conference center Friday night, we came across a booth for "Joe!". Stopping, I asked were Lieberman was. The hapless volunteer said "in DC."

"Why?"

"He had to vote against the partial birth ban." (good excuse! except that...)

"That vote was Thursday. His speech was supposed to be Sunday. That's not a good excuse."

"He doesn't travel on Saturdays."

"So what was wrong with traveling today [Friday]?"

Blank stare from volunteer. I then went in for the kill:

"He didn't want a crappy Sunday speaking slot, did he? So he cancelled."

Still more blank stares. Satisfied, I strolled away.
