Friday | August 01, 2003 Democrats filibuster Pryor Wait for the GOP to explode in blinding rage as the Dems have successfully held their ground on the William Pryor nomination. Senate Dems, minus Miller and Nelson, held together on the filibuster. Pryor thus joined Estrada and Owen -- the three most egregious ideologues nominated by Bush to the federal courts -- in legislative limbo. The GOP will spew talking points about "unprecedented filibusters" -- a notion debunked at this site a while back here and here. And at least Democrats block these wingnut nominees out in the open, unlike the backroom "holds" Republicans used to block dozens of Clinton's nominees. Posted August 01, 2003 08:55 AM |
