Straw seen in wind; Camels reported skittish

by RonK, Seattle

From PollingReport.com, a large-sample Pew Research Center poll (2,528 adults, 2% MoE, polled 7/14-8/5) pegs Dubya's job approval at 53% "Approve", 37% "Disapprove" ... a margin of +16, down from +26 in the previous interval (three weeks earlier).

Pending confirmation by other surveys, this result suggests the threshold of a breakthrough ... Bush's all-time lowest job approval margin, an iota worse than his +17% mark recorded in the period ending 2001-09-05.

In the same poll (subsample of 1,866 registered voters, 2.5% MoE), Dubya's re-elect margin is +5 (43-38, down from 47-37).

Summer polls may not run true to form, due to absent vacationers and happily distracted participants. Still, it's a straw in the wind ... and one of these straws is going to break the camel's back.
