Pentagon to cut hazard pay

They live in hellish conditions, under regular attack, yet the Pentagon has decided to eliminate increases in hazard and family seperation pay.

Overruling the Pentagon on the matter seems like a no-brainer, especially considering Bush's supposed support for our men and women in uniform.

But as is often the case, Bush's "support" is merely lip service:

A White House spokesman referred questions about the administration's view on the pay cut to the Pentagon report.
By punting the issue to the Pentagon, the White House has tacitly endorsed the Pentagon's efforts to repeal the pay increase repeal.
