Murkowski to get primary challenge

Good report on PSR (which is back up after my domain name screwup) on the Alaska Senate race.

Scuttlebutt is that [Johne Binkley] intends to announce his candidacy for US Senate against Lisa Murkowski for the primary. Binkley was on the short list as a possible successor to Sen. Frank Murkowski and was apparently very miffed when Frank picked Lisa.
This is good news for Dems, so long as Murkowski survives the challenge (the bloodier, the better).

Former Gov. Tony Knowles has a good shot at picking up the seat for the Dems, making it the second best pick-up opportunity after Illinois.

Update: Binkley decided not to run after all. Will anyone else step up to the plate and attempt a primary challenge? The GOP is putting on the hard sell on any potential opponents to give Murkowski a free pass to the general.
