Thursday | October 24, 2002 NY Dems a disaster Dem guv candidate Carl McCall has been cut off by the DNC. It's unfathomable how Democrats in this left-leaning state have failed miserably to win back NYC or present a credible challenge to Gov. Pataki. Intra-party fights are tearing the state Dems apart, and the GOP is ultimately the beneficiary. Until they get their act in gear, DNC money can be better spent in lots of other places. Still, it is curious that DNC head Terry McAuliffe would publicly ditch McCall. Bill Clinton is launching a strong campaign effort on McCall's behalf today, yet that effort has now been seriously undercut by McAuliffe. Not so brilliant.
