The Sound of Silence

According to the New York Times, the Prime Minister of Turkey has said this about today's vote:

"Turkey is the only democratic country in the region," he said. "The decision is clear. We have to respect this decision, as this is what democracy requires."

And a spokesman for the American embassy in Turkey has said this:

"We respect this as a democratic result — we will live with that We worked together as allies and we will continue to work together as allies."
