Tuesday | September 09, 2003 Strange Bedfellows? CBC debate on FOX by RonK, Seattle All nine announced Democratic presidential aspirants debate at traditionally black Morgan State in an event sponsored by the Congressional Black Caucus and aired on FOX News: The 90-minute debate will air live at 8 p.m. ET on the Fox News Channel. Brit Hume of Fox News will moderate the debate, with a panel of National Public Radio's Juan Williams, Ed Gordon of Black Entertainment Television and Farai Chideya, who runs the political Web site PopandPolitics.com. (WaPo)Why CBC on FOX? A cynic would say FOX loves to present the Dem's as the party of black folks (don't they just lo-o-ove that Reverend Al?), and CBC strains to sell the idea "we can always take our business elsewhere". ([CBC Chair Elijah] Cummings would not say which other networks he approached, only that Fox presented "the very best deal by far.") A cynic would say that. I wouldn't say that. Should be plenty lively in any event. Posted September 09, 2003 05:04 PM | Comments (536) |
